Territory

Located at the extreme west of Thailand, border with Myanmar (formerly Burma), the "sector 3" of the diocese of Nakhon Sawan, entrusted to the fathers of the Foreign Missions of Paris, is implanted on the "marches" of the Kingdom, far large centers.

And it is of "marches" that one can speak, for this territory in staircase, with the steep valleys, covered with a dense tropical forest. Also displacements, for limited that is the territory (1000km2), are made complicated by the relief, the climate and the state of the tracks. Thus, the missionary spends most of his time in his car, to visit the most isolated villages. In the monsoon season, when the rains have transformed dust tracks into rivers of mud, it is on foot that we go from village to village. The area of Ponouaipou has 4 chapels and about forty villages.
