8 months of work, 20 workers, 250 truck rotations, 25 000 sand and gravel bags, etc. The Poblaki kindergarten is finally (almost) over!
The new nursery school welcomed its new students in this new year 2019.
If the primary school had benefited from a reconstruction by Father Alain Bourdery in 2011, kindergarten and common were in a sad state. The tropical climate and termites had made the buildings unsanitary and dangerous.
The first studies go back to the spring of 2017. Two years have been necessary to see the completion of this ambitious project. The new building houses two kindergarten classes, but also the common school: teachers' room, gymnastics, library, refectory, kitchen. The earthworks led us to rethink all the landscaping of the school: this is how it was decided to build a playground-ground volleyball, and grass a brand new football field, so to minimize dust in the hot season. A new portion of concrete runway also passes through the school to allow its supply. With the financial help of the alumni, new sanitary facilities have been built. The garden, completely redesigned, benefits from new trees and shrubs.
This vast building site would not have been possible without the help of the Enfants du Mekong association and their partners. May they be warmly thanked.
It remains to realize the power supply of the site. The solar system, valued at 100,000 baths (2900 euros), is still seeking its sponsors ... notice to potential benefactors!
