projects monitoring: where are we?

The end of the rains allows the resumption of work: finally communications resume a less epic course, the track is less slippery and it becomes possible to transport machines and materials in the mountains again. This month of October saw the construction of the Poblaki farm and the hydroelectric turbine of Leubipouaki start.

The mission sees its fleet increased: a brand new 4x4 truck joins the park. The last-born of the Thai manufacturer SAMMITR, it will allow us to deliver more materials in better safety conditions. In the long term, it will transport the agricultural production of the cooperative to the city and send seeds, fertilizers and construction materials to the villages.

The construction of the Leubipouaki hydroelectric turbine began with the assistance of all the villagers, under the very effective leadership of their mayor. Marking of the pipes, estimation of the distribution's distribution, the delivery of the pipes and the electric poles is now expected. The site promises to be epic: no less than 400 tubes of 70 kilos each will have to be routed and mounted on the mountainside, in the middle of the forest! The foundations and poles of the Poblaki Co-operative Farm are already sunk. Steel is now expected for the frame, and the blocks for the walls. Ten workers are working full time, helped by five of our young people from the center of Ponouaipou, who discover for a few days during their holidays the construction trades.
